USATT Announces At-Large Board Positions Election Results and Selection of the Independent and National Member Organization Representatives to the USATT Board of Directors

Dr. Tuan Le and Dell Sweeris Elected as the At-Large Representatives Ajay Anand, Richard Char, Patrick Gildea, and Kelly Watson Selected by the USATT NGC as Independent Directors

NCTTA Nominee Kagin Lee Approved by NGC as the NMO Representative on the Board

 

(Colorado Springs, CO – December 17, 2024) – USA Table Tennis (“USATT”) today announced the election results for the At-Large Representatives on the USATT Board of Directors. In the recently completed election for two available At-Large seats on the Board, which was conducted, monitored and certified by YesElections, Dr. Tuan Le and Dell Sweeris have been declared the winners.


Also, the USATT Nominating and Governance Committee [“NGC”] has selected the four Independent Representatives on the Board of Directors: (i) Ajay Anand; (ii) Richard Char; (iii) Patrick Gildea; and (iv) Kelly Watson. The NGC has also approved the nominee submitted by the National Collegiate Table Tennis Association, Kagin Lee, who will serve as the National Member Organization Representative on the Board. The twelve member USATT Board of Directors is rounded out by the Club Representative, Will Shortz, who was previously approved by the NGC, and the four Elite Athlete Representatives recently elected by USATT’s 10 Year Elite Athletes.


In the At-Large Representative election, the certified vote count for the four candidates was as follows: Dr. Tuan Le (493), Dell Sweeris (352), Alex Figueroa (287), and Danny Leung (216). As the candidate receiving the greatest number of votes, Dr. Le will serve as the Class B At-Large Director with a four-year term beginning on January 1, 2025, and terminating on December 31, 2028. As the candidate receiving the second most votes, Dell Sweeris will serve as the Class A At-Large Director, whose two-year term will run from January 1, 2025, until December 31, 2026.


The NGC selected Richard Char, who is the outgoing Chair of the USATT Board, and Kelly Watson, who also served on the USATT Board during the term which ends on December 31, as the Class-B Independent Directors. Incoming Independent Representatives Ajay Anand, who serves as a senior vice-president for Johnson & Johnson Global Services Strategy and Business Services, and Patrick Gildea, a Certified Public Accountant who has served as the Chief Financial Officer for several large business entities, were selected as the Class-A Independent Directors.


Kagin Lee, who has been serving as the NMO Representative on the USATT Board during the current term, will serve as a Class-A Director.


The roster for the upcoming staggered term of the USATT Board of Director is as follows:


Ajay Anand: Independent – Class A

(Term January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026)

Richard Char: Independent – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)

Patrick Gildea: Independent - Class A

(Term January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026)

Kelly Watson: Independent – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)

Dr. Tuan Le: At-Large – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)

Dell Sweeris: At Large – Class A

(Term January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026)

Will Shortz: Club – Class A

(Term January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026)

Kagin Lee: NMO (NCTTA)  – Class A

(Term January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2026)

Ian Seidenfeld: First Athlete – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)

Tahl Leibovitz: Second Athlete – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)

Tom Feng: Third Athlete – Class B

(Term: January 1, 2025, through December 31, 2028)
