Dear Ponger,
Two international players are scheduled to compete at the May Westchester Open this weekend (May 28-29).
Poland's Daniel Gorak, formerly world-ranked #52, is returning. When he was last here in 2019, he lost to Juan Liu 13-11 in the fifth of the final. He'll want to avenge that result this weekend!
Also competing is Nigeria's Ahmed Adeleye, who plays professionally in Portugal and has an estimated rating of 2550.
Many of the regular top U.S. players will be here, too.
Special events this weekend, all on Saturday:
- Over 40 & Under 2000
- Sandpaper (with paddles provided)
- Handicap (with the higher-rated player handicapped 1 point for every 75-point rating advantage over opponent up to a maximum of 7 points)
Note: We've dropped the Doubles event for the time being, as it has been causing too many problems with the schedule.

Hope to see you this weekend!
