Registration Opens for First-Ever USATT-Sanctioned Virtual Reality Tournament
by USA Table Tennis
The first-ever USATT-sanctioned Virtual Reality (VR) Table Tennis Tournament is set to take place at the Orange County Table Tennis Academy (OCTTA) in Fountain Valley, California on May 10th, 2025. Entries are now open on Omnipong for this historic event.
Hosted by Dr. Tuan Le, the tournament marks a significant milestone in table tennis innovation in the U.S. The virtual reality competition will take place in person at OCTTA in a single elimination format, where players will have the chance to meet other enthusiasts and build community. Medals and awards will be presented to the top 16 players, with $1000 for the winner. This landmark event will be the first virtual reality competition sanctioned by USATT and the first tournament under the newly formed USATT and Eleven Table Tennis partnership. In commemoration, a special virtual Eleven Table Tennis OCTTA-branded paddle will be available for those participating in the event.
The competition will feature a single Open event and use Eleven Table Tennis’s in-game rating system for seeding. Players must be USATT members to compete and are asked to bring their own Eleven Table Tennis compatible headsets to the competition. OCTTA’s large space will allow new and veteran table tennis players to compete against each other in a fun, engaging and fresh new virtual reality format.
Those interested in learning more or entering the tournament can view the entry form and register at Omnipong.com. Eleven Table Tennis and USATT also encourage participants and spectators to log into the Discord Channel to discuss the event and meet other players and enthusiasts.
