USA Table Tennis Announces Coaching Leadership for 2025-2028 Quadrennial

Colorado Springs, CO – USA Table Tennis (USATT) announces the coaching leadership team for the upcoming 2025-2028 quadrennial. Legendary 4x Olympian and 1992 silver medalist Gao Jun will continue to lead the helm as the National Team Head Coach, supported by 2004 Olympian Mark Hazinski as the National Team Men's Coach. Both coaches were on duty for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, which saw historic results and extraordinary press coverage.


Gao Jun: Leads the Charge as National Team Head Coach

Gao Jun, one of the most decorated figures in U.S. table tennis, continues in her role as National Team Head Coach after a stellar performance by the Women’s Team at the 2023 Santiago Pan Am Games and 2024 Paris Olympic Games.


Under Coach Gao Jun’s guidance, the U.S. women’s teams have achieved historic success in the past quad including:

  • Gold Medals at the Pan American Championships (Adult)
    • Women’s Singles: Amy Wang (2023)
    • Women’s Team: Amy Wang, Lily Zhang, Rachel Sung and Sally Moyland (2023)
    • Women’s Doubles: Amy Wang and Rachel Sung (2022)
  • Gold Medals at the Pan American Games (Adult)
    • Women’s Team: Amy Wang, Lily Zhang and Rachel Sung (2023)
    • Women’s Doubles: Amy Wang & Rachel Sung (2023)
  • Paris Olympic Games Milestones:
    • Lily Zhang’s historic Round of 16 finish in Women’s Singles at the Paris 2024 Olympics, the best-ever showing for a U.S. women’s table tennis player since Wang Chen in 2008

In her continued role, Coach Gao Jun will focus on building on these accomplishments to inspire and develop the next generation of American table tennis athletes. Her leadership aims to ensure continued success in key events, at both the youth and adult levels, in preparation for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games.

Mark Hazinski: Building on Momentum as National Team Men's Coach


Mark Hazinski, 2004 Olympian and former National Champion, continues on as the Men's Coach after a series of recent accomplishments that underscore his coaching expertise. Under Hazinski’s leadership, U.S. teams have achieved remarkable international success, including:

  • 2022 Pan American Championships – Men’s Team - Silver
  • 2023 Pan Am Youth Championships, U-19 Boys Team - Gold
  • 2023 Pan American Games – Men’s Team – Bronze
  • 2024 Pan American Championships – Men’s Team - Gold

Hazinski expressed his enthusiasm for the next quad:
