Amy Wang & Andrew Cao Claim 2024 Mixed Doubles National Title

[Huntsville, AL] – Top seeds Amy Wang and Andrew Cao have secured the top honor in Mixed Doubles at the 2024 U.S. National Championships held at the Von Braun Center in Huntsville, AL. Amy Wang, the defending U.S. National Champion, is looking for a clean sweep at this event, eyeing titles in Mixed Doubles, Women’s Doubles and Women’s Singles.

In the final, WANG and CAO faced Tiffany Ke and Sid Naresh. The latter pair had caused the upset of the event in the semi-final, beating second seeded Rachel Sung and Dan Liu in straight sets. WANG and CAO started the match very strong, winning the first two games 11-4 and 11-4. But then, NARESH and KE found their rhythm – changing their strategy to be more consistent, which paid off and they took the 3^rd game 11-2. In the fourth, KE played outstanding, helping the team tie up the match 2-2. The fifth game was neck and neck until the side switch at 5-4, and then WANG stepped up the quality of her receives, and the team took a run to win 11-5 in the fifth.
