Nandan Naresh & Daniel Tran Capture 2024 Men’s Doubles Title

[Huntsville, AL] – Second seeds Nandan Naresh and Daniel Tran secured the Men’s Doubles title on the 3rd day of competition at the 2024 U.S. Nationals in Huntsville Alabama. The pair overcame Darryl Tsao and Victor Xie, the 4th seeds, in the final 3-1 in convincing fashion. The title is Nandan Naresh’s first, but Daniel Tran’s second, as he won the same title with his older brother Michael Tran in 2022.
In the final, Nandan and Daniel demonstrated how creativity can be an incredible asset in doubles. During the match, Nandan used his strawberry flip to return serves in such a new and innovative way that neither Darryl nor Victor could find a good answer for it throughout the entire match. Daniel, being the veteran doubles player, swooped in with a blistering forehand attack to finish points after Nandan’s creative returns.
The Men’s Doubles final included four players who were all still juniors (U19). The future of U.S. Men’s table tennis is bright as young stars fill the senior ranks and continue to push the creativity, innovation and skill level in the U.S.
