Colorado Springs, CO (October 25, 2024) – USA Table Tennis (USATT) is thrilled to announce two premier table tennis events for 2025: the inaugural WTT United States Smash and the 2025 U.S. Nationals. These two events will take place back-to-back, with the U.S. Nationals scheduled for June 28 to July 4th in Ontario, California (outside Los Angeles), followed by the inaugural WTT U.S. Smash in Las Vegas, Nevada from July 3 to 13. The proximity of the two events encourages participants at the U.S. Nationals to commute to Las Vegas to witness the best table tennis athletes in the world compete after the end of their competition.

2025 U.S. Nationals: June 28-July 4, 2025, Ontario, California

The 2025 U.S. Nationals will take place in Ontario, California, from June 28 to July 4, 2025, at the Ontario Convention Center. After a successful U.S. Open in 2023, USATT will return to sunny Southern California for another premier event. The U.S. National Championships will see athletes from across the country compete for national titles and national team ranking points across more than a hundred events.

"Southern California's Ontario and the region is looking forward to hosting the U.S. Nationals!  This is a great opportunity to showcase Ontario Convention Center while welcoming the athletes and attendees to explore our destination."  said Michael K. Krouse, President & CEO of Greater Ontario California.

The dates of the U.S. Nationals were carefully selected to ensure that members and fans can compete at the U.S. National Championships and attend the WTT Smash seamlessly. Athletes and spectators can travel from Ontario to Las Vegas and witness the action-packed WTT Smash right after the Nationals conclude.

“We are excited to once again bring the U.S. Nationals to Ontario,” said Virginia Sung, CEO of USA Table Tennis. “By aligning our dates with the WTT United States Smash, we aim to give our members and fans the chance to experience both events, making 2025 an unforgettable year for table tennis in the U.S.”

WTT United States Smash: July 3-13, 2025, Las Vegas

The World Table Tennis (WTT) United States Smash will debut in Las Vegas, Nevada, at the Orleans Arena from July 3 to 13, 2025.

This 11-day event will showcase the best in the world and Olympic gold medalists Wang Chuqin and Sun Yingsha, as well as American talents such as Lily Zhang and Kanak Jha are expected to compete. As the first WTT Grand Smash held in the United States, this event is destined to leave a lasting impact and continue the growth of table tennis in the U.S., especially as we head towards the LA 2028 Olympics.

US WTT Youth Contenders Bookend US Nationals and WTT US Smash

The U.S. will host 6 WTT Youth Contenders in 2025, with two carefully scheduled around the U.S. Nationals and the inaugural WTT U.S. Smash to allow our up-and-coming juniors to take part in all events during their summer.

The WTT Youth Contender at Westchester Table Tennis Center from June 24 to June 27th will kick-start the summer competition season for U.S. junior players, who can then travel to the U.S. Nationals in Ontario, California. Junior Age Events at the U.S. Nationals will begin no earlier than June 30th to accommodate for travel time for those athletes competing at the WTT Youth Contender directly prior.

After the WTT U.S. Smash, inspired junior players can continue their competition streak by playing at the WTT Youth Contender San Francisco III at 888 Table Tennis Center from July 17-20th.
